Did you watch the new movie Odyssey and was it exciting for you?

My son and his girlfriend saw it yesterday and didn't like it. They said casting A-List actors in many of the roles sort of overshadowed the story and ruined the experience. They basically said it was another low effort Hollywood studio cash grab.

For my part this story has been done and redone by Hollywood over the last 60 years. I'm sorta done with sword and sandal epics in general.

No, but here's something to think about. In the 1954 movie Ulysses Odysseus was played by Kirk Douglas, an Ashkenazi Jew born in the United States. Nobody cared.

In the 1956 movie Helen of Troy, Helen was played by Rosanna Podesta, an Italian. Again, nobody cared.

I haven't watched it and I won't. I really love the old version. The cast of the new version doesn't feature actors and actresses who are as well-suited to the roles as those in the original.
