What factors most influence your choice of a movie to watch and why?

and why you made that choice? In my case I go just to be entertained, I dotn care a movie star political stance. Also I dotn follow the masses or trends like many people do, in case the movie really is the worst. I want to form my own opnion.

Who's in it, what type of movie it is, is it anything interesting to me, does it have a mystique that attracts me even though it ends up not being worth my time? Was it suggested to me, and who suggested it?
I've heard LOADS of people rave about how great "Citizen Cane" and "Gone With The Wind" are but, they just don't interest me in the least and, to this day, I've never seen either of them. Frankly, I just don't give a damn!!
There's a few other classics I MIGHT watch, some day, "Casablanca", "Dial M For Murder", etc..

My main reason for watching a film is the story and topic. But I will also be drawn to talented directors and stars.
I will not watch movies with certain stars, especially Israel supporters, trans activists and racists. And there are some stars I simply don't like.

I usually choose a movie based on director, mood, and visuals. If it’s from a director I love or it played at Cannes, Venice, or won major awards, I’m curious. I also look at cinematography and style a lot. Trends can be fun, but I always watch to form my own opinion, even on “worst” movies 😄

Comedy. If it's a comedy it probably ranks high for me.

And there are certain actors/actresses i'm just partial to. I tend to watch their movies.

Also Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors. If he made it, i'm probably watching it.

I quit watching movies. I hate to sound pretentious but I still feel that movies have to be "art" on some level, not the homogenized product that comes out of modern Hollywood.
