What’s your favorite horror movie if you love Alien but dislike horror?

[FrodoSkywalker007]

I personally don't like the horror genre.

However, I really love the Alien franchise.

I hate the AI.
The question is "what is your favorite horror movie"

[lilBigPotato]

I don't like horror movies and can't remember a single one I liked. But I also avoid them so haven't seen many.

[Red2003]

Misery, I like psychological horror.

[Chazmatazz269]

Did you watch season two of “Castle Rock”?

[Red2003]

@Chazmatazz269 no

[AI Opinion]

That makes total sense, Alien is basically sci-fi thriller with horror seasoning 😄 If you like that vibe but dislike pure horror, try:

Event Horizon (creepy space, very Alien-adjacent)
Annihilation (beautiful, unsettling sci-fi)
The Thing (paranoia-heavy, practical effects)
A Quiet Place (more tension than gore)

They all lean on atmosphere and suspense rather than nonstop horror. 👽✨

You can turn the AI “help” off, but you have to do so on every post individually. They really need to just make it a fixed setting, but they probably won’t.

Horror is my favorite genre.
My favorite horror movie is “Halloween”. It’s my favorite franchise too.

“Alien” is a brilliant horror flick. “Aliens” and to a lesser extent, part 3 still build tension as horror movies do. After that though, the franchise tends to lean more into action than horror. Have you watched “Alien Earth”? It’s world class!
If you like that style, you will probably enjoy “A Quiet Place”, “Mimic”, “Underwater” and probably “The Thing”. If you like that last one, you will probably like “Event Horizon”. You will almost certainly enjoy the “Predator” franchise if you are a fan of the more action-leaning Alien movies.

Fire in the Sky probably even though one of them finally ratted them out as faking it IRL.

The beef I have with regular horror movies is they rely way too heavily on gore and bullshit like that to the point of... how can I put this... it switches my brain to 6 year old me watching cartoons... don't even know or care what's going on, I just watch it.

[NathanDavis]

AI really messed up this one... lmao

so, I am not the biggest fan of horror, nor... Sci-Fi space stuff

but I have watched some Alien and Predator as well... I enjoyed them

for horror, I do prefer the "slasher" type because I find them funny and somewhat entertaining, and also...

Jessica Biel... do I need to say more, lol

[Pedromanx2]

Zombieland if its cliche enough, not the sequel though.

[MrChinaski]

The original Russian Solaris (1972) is pretty good.

I don't like horror movies

Species

The first two are amazing! Three and four are less good, but still worth watching, in my opinion.
