Have you ever watched a horror that was just too terrible to finish?

For the record I don't really like horrors but I have seen some and have tried to be a little more open-minded to the psychological ones, because those aren't usually too bad. Like It Follows, Mother!, and Don't Breathe. But some are just downright garbage and so evil I can't even finish. Last night I tried watching The Hills Have Eyes for the first time ever and made it half way before the story just started getting really ugly. I picked up the remote and said "Nah I'm done with this shit" lol.

What about you guys? You ever stop halfway through a horror like that?

Yeah, "House Of 1000 Corpses". Normally, horror flicks don't bother me at all but, for some reason, that one got to me and I could barely finish watching it. I very seriously doubt I ever will, again!!
Horror flicks are kind of like those dark amusement park rides: they're at least a bit scary the first time but enough fun that you can't wait to go on it again!! Not this one!
Another one I wasn't thrilled with, although, not exactly a horror flick but, quite bizarre, was, "Eraserhead". Part way in I was gonna shut it off but, I was hoping there was, eventually, going to be a point to it!! There isn't!! The only part of it I liked was the girl in the radiator!! Although she had this huge growth on her face, she was quite pretty and I really liked the song she kept repeating.

Quite boring an annoying and absolutely pointless!! Some guy with really tall hair has sex with a woman and she gives birth to what looks like a gigantic (baby-sized) sperm cell!! She leaves the kid with him and we never see her again. He spends most of the movie in his tiny, dingy apartment trying to find ways to get the baby to stop crying! At one point, he's just staring off into the distance in depression, I guess, and spots this lady in between the parts of the radiator who does this very slight dance and sings a song on a stage. I know she comes back later in the movie but I don't recall much about it or how the movie ends.

Quite! She has no other function in the movie! It's also mostly a silent movie, as far as I know. I mean, there's sound but there's no dialogue except for that girl singing, from what I recall.

Nah I watch everything to the finish even if it's bad.. Plus I love gore and pointless violence. The only movie that made me actually uncomfortable was I spit on your gave, I forwarded the rape because that scene was just too long and uncomfortable but the rest of the film was alright.

THAT'S the shit I'm talking about. I can't understand how in the world rape is used in these movies like it's nothing. That's one of the parts that made me quit on Hills Have Eyes. One of the 'mutants' was trying to rape Emily De Ravin in her bed. Totally not cool for me. At all.

Oh i 100% judge at shit like this. Like there's dark romance, and theirs rape porn. There's a series I read a while back, some grim dark about witch hunters. They would either be murdered in the streets, or taken to the dungeons where the city ruler would rape them at his leisure. Thats what im talking about, rape used as if its a banality of intimacy.

there is rape in CHECKMATE, gay manhwa but like, its one of the few books where it makes sense. 1. main character hates the love interest, thats the whole first half 2. reason for hate is not something shallow, he is jealous of how the other dude ALWAYS gets more oppurtunity than him 2. he came to check on the guy when the said guy was depressed and failing for the first, you can say the mc wanted a sadistic kink out of it 3. both characters are intelligent and leave to respect each other within the second half

I’m usually fine with psychological horror, but I noped out of “Martyrs” and “A Serbian Film.” They felt disturbing just for the sake of it, not even artistically necessary.

Even some classics like the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” almost lost me because of the relentless grime and anxiety. I love being spooked, not feeling like my soul needs therapy afterward 😂

I think one of the worst I have ever watched is Hostel. I don’t even know about it but my friend who is really a Horror enthusiast invited me to her place to watch the movie together. It is mostly bloody sadistic and I have heard some rumours that the movie is partially inspired by a true event. Some of the scenes remain in my mind like they never really go away lol.
