Uhh probably not to be completely honest. I would be nice and respectfull and maybe listen to them and give advice etc etc but it wouldn't go further than that.

As a semi-transgender I would, sure. We're talking about "be[ing] friends". Of course I wouldn't be friends with every transgender, but I wouldn't be friends with every cisgender person either.
