+1 yReally. That's a sad way to think. If the people I know (both guys and girls) who tell me I'm pretty (and completely without provocation), then I guess I'm a "pretty" person getting bullied.
I've been bullied ever since I was a kid. No matter how much I try to be nice, no matter how much I try to be a good friend, most people just don't like me. I am very depressed. I only recently found people who actually understand and care about me. I've been bullied physically, mentally, verbally and for a short period, cyber bullied. I can't even think about it for long before I start crying my eyes out.
Not just "ugly" people get bullied. I do not believe that I am ugly (although I am always surprised when I receive that particular compliment). I do not believe I am a mean person. I always put others before myself. I give just about zero fucks about my life, but when it comes to friend and family, I will always be there for them, no matter what. They mean more to me than anything.
No matter what you look like, it doesn't matter. People will bully you for any reason. It's s not easy to be pretty and you may think "wow you sound conceited," but I'm not. Just like pretty people might bully and ridicule an ugly person for being unfortunate in the looks department, an ugly person could bully a pretty person due to jealousy that that person is prettier than them. I know plenty of pretty and beautiful people who have gotten bullied.31 Reply

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI feel pushed out of every social group because of how I look.
Online, I have had people turn on me out of the blue and one girl admitted that the picture of me triggered her, which seemed to be her excuse for her actions.
I view myself as quite a nerdy person but nerds don't like me because they see me as a threat or feel insecure around me, but pretty popular girls have bullied me for being nerdy and working hard in my education.
Just today, a girl who was not at all attractive and very overweight wouldn't even look me in the eye or speak to me, even when I tried to acknowledge her. And another girl randomly spoke about how she disliked popular girls and didn't want to fit in with them and looked at me, thinking that I am a popular girl. People assume as well that I have loads of friends and that I'm super social but it's the opposite.
This is something that is never spoken about because people say we're complaining about something minor and we should be grateful for our looks but honestly, it can be a curse in a lot of respects.50 Reply
I was picked on from kindergarten till 7th grade. I am told im attractive often enough and I've been advised to model ( not runway im only 5 ft 6. Declined either way not intersted.) Point being, I May not be everyone's taste, however I am fairly confident I was not picked on bc I was not attractive.
I'm blunt and im not i to cliques I've always been fairly diplomatic very demanding semantically justice driven very literal and far too elaborate & graphic for any age..,, Not welcomed traits in elementary school.40 Reply
Yes, actually.
One if my close friends got bullied and made fun of by her group of friends. They called her a slut, whore, would send her texts, and throw stuff at her.
She was really pretty.
Same thing happened to my other best friend... Wait 2 other of my best friends.
My other friend was getting bullied just because she was quiet and didn't really stick up for herself.
Soo... Yeah. It happens.72 Reply
Asker+1 ythat's exactly why people make fun of me... i'm too quiet and i never stand up for myself
+1 yAll the time. Girls who are very pretty in my opinion (even prettier than the bullies actually) sometimes get picked on by other girls because they are insecure about their own looks. Usually they are jealous of the pretty girls looks so they put her down. They also want to remove them as a threat in dating, so they bully them to the point that they develope insecurity issues and never end up dating anyone. Its a shame 😪. For all you girls out there who get picked on for your looks, most likely YOU are the one that us guys think are attractive not those mean ugly bullies. Hang in there girls, we all love ya! 😘

+1 yin my experience pretty girls aren't bullied as much in general but they are a lot harder on themselves than most people realize. It seems that they are more likely to get into abusive relationships and are more dependent on the opinion of others regarding their worth

+1 yI remember how I started high school where I got a lot of attention (first two years), and girls were like ´You´re so beautiful´. I received a lot of compliments. I was basically the center of attention, and I had a lot of friends. That changed after I received more and more attention from the opposite gender, when intimidation started to be a real thing amongst guys, and the most good-looking guys showed interest in me. Those same girls stabbed me in the back, and started to destroy my self-esteem. It took me a lot of effort and time to recover from this. I´ve endured 4 years, I´ve been alone all that time and accompanied by guys.
41 ReplyI was bullied very harshly from grades 4-8 and I never considered myself ugly, nor do I think most people would. I'm by no means a 10, but I do fit conventional definitions of attractiveness.
In high school, I was no longer bullied, but there was a group of girls in the grade above me who decided very quickly that they hated me and tried to make my life pretty miserable. However, they only succeeded in making themselves miserable :)61 Reply- +1 y
Wow it's like you've just told my story too. I lost tract of how many times I've been called ugly or talked from behind about how ugly I looked (even had a 17 year-old girl telling me I look like Anne Frank and then added ''She was was ugly too'') but nope, I've always been slightly above average.
Just like you, this ended in HS too.
Everyone gets bullied to a certain degree. Growing up I've seen pretty girls get nasty rumors and lies spread about them. My sister's best friend was a very pretty girl and apparently other girls used to gang up on her for some reason.
People get bullied for many different reasons; being ugly isn't the only requirement for bully bait. I've noticed people with annoying and obnoxious personalities, tattle-tells, and ass kissers are often bullied despite how good they look.30 Reply

+1 yi get a lot of jealousy and mild bullying especially from short fat ugly men, i imagine same for woman who get most attention.
70 ReplyI often see pretty girls siting on their own, not with the other girls, is this considered bullying being socially excluded due to envy?

I knew someone who experienced this.
basially the "pretty" girl is the one who will be always being pampered by the guys... not being bullied ;-)

+1 yyes. a "pretty" person could have an ugly personality which causes them to be bullied/made fun of.

sorry. but not all pretty girls are mean. most are, well, mean girls. and mean girls are just too confident that they called themselves the beauty queen, I hate it too tho. And because they're confident, they pick on the weak ones, or a shy girl that's insanely cute because of jealousy. :)
