My 'friend' spread a rumor about me sending nudes?

Okay, so here's the story. My friend has been 'joking with me' all week. She was telling me for three days straight and bringing a few other people into it that there were pictures of my nudes on some group chat on facebook. All that it said was my name and my second name initial, but it wasn't me. So apparently everyone thinks its me, and I noticed at break a group of girls who were talking and seemed to be looking in my area a lot. This friend anyways kept asking me if they were mine and stuff like that. I asked her to add me to the group and she said she would but they would probably be saying here's the slut. Im starting to feel really self consious. I dont know if its a joke gone too far or what but I dont like it. I dont know if there really is a group chat, I've never seen the messages. I dont know how many people know, I dont know where it started, I had never heard of the guy I 'sent' the nudes to. I have never sent nudes in my life. Im feeling ashamed, for something that I didn't even do. I hate being confused

Wow okay so you're 14 now so I hope I can help you learn something I didn't learn until I was 18. She's a mean girl and a mean girl won't ever be a friend even if you are BFF's and sleep at each oher's houses 4 nights a week.

I was fortunate enough that all of my close friends were true friends until my sophomore year in high school. None of my friends would have done anything like this to me EVER. if they found it and thought it was me they would launch into damage control not recruit people for further embarrassment. She is intentionally making it up.

Friends like this suck and make life worse than it would be if you had no friends at all. It can be very damaging to you.

I moved half way through Freshman year in high school and it took a long time to find true friends because I was pretty, popular and smart. Most of the popular girls hated me secretly and befriended me either for their own social gain or sabotage. I came from a rich community where I was just average popular and had good friends in the dozens so I wasn't prepared for this kind of back stabbing.

Anything I told these girls in confidence they would leak publicly infront of guys while I was present. For me that was the end of our close friendship but for them it was normal behavior and even when I met them in college through mutual friends they couldn't understand what went wrong. To be fair if your Dad died or something they'd be there but only for attention. They will always throw you under the bus for social status.

I found three really good friends in high school. One was like me a pretty new girl that was popular, another was a town legacy but didn't hang with the partiers and we lived together in college, the other was a girl who also moved to town two years before me and was a cheerleader but we were friends through college and always went out of country on spring break together.

BOTTOM LINE If your friend embarrasses you are makes you feel bad about yourself when around she isn't your friend and you cannot hang with her anymore.

When I quit hanging with my mean girl I worried people would all pick her and I would t be invited to parties but that so wasn't the case. We did have friends that hit both parties but none abandoned me and I talked to them for years after high school.

Thanks for the responses, I really appreciate all the effort and helpfulness. I can't just abandon people though, i'm not like you. I have few friends and wouldn't have much of a social life, but yeah rather than a mean girl she's a bitch. I realized that lately hah

Hon trust me when I moved to that new town I had zero friends at first and cried myself to sleep sometimes. A 15 y/o pregnant girl claimed she was going to beat me up after school to everyone except me and for no reason other than she gave the wrong answer in history class and I have the right one. People were like you can't hit her back because she is 5 mo preggers. Luckily she didn't follow through.

But news flash even popular girls go without friends for a period of time because well like you said they are bitches.

As far as abandon that isn't the right word. It's like saying you abandoned a man that beat you halfway to death.

Abandoning a friend means bailing when the going gets tough because their parent has cancer or something. If they aren't a positive force for you then you have to look out for yourself.

My soph year I went from one true friend to many and mainly because I stood up for the disenfranchised.

This odd couple guys where one weighed 400 lbs and the other just had an unfortunate face got made fun of at lunch and finally I said something and my table didn't do it again. The guy who was making fun of them told me at prom he was the one who launched a joke campaign for the QB and head cheerleader to be Prom King and Queen because of the incident. No worries would do it again.

My boyfriend knew him for over 10 years and they weren't friends after that and they were good friends.

Ten years later I can still tell you these people aren't good friends to anyone. Cut your losses.
