I think my stepdad is molesting me and I have no idea who to turn to. Advice please?

I am 14 years old. I live with my mom and stepdad. He's never actually raped me but he's done things like touch my butt. One night I was laying in bed just staring at the wall and I heard him come into my room. I thought he was just checking on me so I didn't really pay it much attention. Mind you, my back was face towards the door. So I'm just laying there and I feel him sit by my bed and he just puts his hand under my blanket and runs the tips of his fingers across my butt. I start moving around pretending to still be asleep, just trying to get comfortable. He then quickly moves his hand but stays frozen for a bit (I guess to make sure I was still "asleep"). Then, he gets up and leaves. Another day, I was in my room at night. I got a text from him asking if I wanted to watch a movie with him. I said "sure" because I thought my mom would be there too. When I went his room, I asked where my mom was and he said that she would be right back. I just said "okay" and sat on the floor. He laughed and told me I could sit on the bed. I sat on the side far away from him and he pulled me by my waist over to him and just left his hand there. I pretended that I had to use the bathroom and told him that I was tired and wanted to go to sleep. I don't know who I should speak to. I am SO scared to tell my mom. I don't want her to think that I'm lying and want to sabotage her relationship with him. I am scared of the police. I don't know who to talk to. I really don't. There have been more instances but I don't think I can fit them all.

What you described happening in your bedroom is totally inappropriate, even moreso than what you described in his room. I say that because in his room he theoretically could say he was just trying to bond while watching a movie. That can't be used as an excuse for his hand roaming where it doesn't belong under your blanket when he thought you were asleep.

You don't mention what kind of relationship you have with your mom or your real dad. This can have an affect on what you should do.

Basically, these are the options I see... talk with your mom or... talk with your real dad or talk with another trusted relative, like grandparents, aunts, uncles... or if you feel very threatened and can't talk with a family member, talk with a teacher/counselor/principal. Should be noted that if you talk to a teacher, etc., they will most likely notify child services.

If you are very close with your mom, and feel confident she's not the kind to take his side, then yes, you should have a talk with her, alone. There are a small percentage of women that take the man's side. This happened to my daughter when she was a little younger than you are. She told a teacher about it and I was notified by child services. I ended up with full custody. Hopefully your mom will understand the seriousness of this and put an end to it. If she doesn't, though, then you need to go to someone else like your dad, relatives or school. I don't mean to make you fearful to talk with anyone but I don't want you blindsided either. You know best how you can talk to your mom but I'd consider something along the lines of needing to talk to her about something that made you feel uncomfortable.

Yes totally amen to what everybody else has said. Your mom needs to know you have been her daughter long before this guy ever came along. But you need to do it in a very mature manner without appearing like you're trying to sabotage her relationship. Take your mom some where it's only you two.

You should really tell your mother, she would have no reason to think you're lying. Or confront him, I know its scary but realistically you should just ask him "What do you think you're doing"
