Yes, I think it's important if he can handle it and I think it's a very special intimate moment when the baby comes into the world and they all become a family.
IF he can't be supportive or she doesn't want him to be there though, he should stay in the waiting room. I'd be upset if my partner wasn't there but sometimes it isn't for the best... I don't plan on having my baby's father at the birth because he only causes me stress and will only hinder labor but that rarely happens. If you're in this situation, you should ask your partner what she wants and expects :)
Are you having a baby?
Yes, very soon :D
Well congrats I guess
Thanks. Do you have a partner who's having a baby soon?
Nope
No... thats something I wanna get through on my own cuz someone standing besides me and being like "okay sweetie you're okay it doesn't hurt that much you can do this" juat doesn't help me. Tho I want him besides me after thebaby pops out.
It takes two to tango and I'd kill my future partner if he wasn't there with me, we go through the happy and pleasurable times together, so he'll better be there during one of my most painful times in my life.
But he might just be a nuisance
He just has to stand/sit there holding my hold while dealing with me screaming at him lol then it'll all be forgotten once the baby pops out. Plus he'll need to text the family tell them about the birth, weight, gender etc and also get my dad and other friends and family there to see the baby.
The only reason why a woman wouldn’t is because of the whole “pushing so hard you shit too”.
I think that he should be there and that even if that does happen (which is more often does than not) he shouldn’t make a big deal
Some women feel annoyed by them being there
Well that may only be because they’re trying to hard. Sometimes guys tend to get in the way. It’s also an extremely painful time for women and the smallest things can be too much to handle (for example: breathing on her, patting her leg or back)
If he isn't going to help the situation, it makes sense for him not to be there
Sometimes but he can also be their for support. There are pros and cons and in the end the woman has to speak up and say something.
Yes. He wasn’t able to be in the room the first time because I had an emergency c-section. He was in the room when I had my other c-sections. I was scared I needed him with me.
Of course. He's the love of my life, my best friend, and the father of our child. I would want him with me.
Yeah, he doesn't have to watch the baby bust out of my vagina but I want him there to hold my hand
He was with me when I laboured. It was very supportive and made me safe... but we don't want to have any more child...
Bloody oath! He did this to me, he has to see it through to the end with me XD
Yeah and he was there.
And how was that?
Medical since says that is very effective in reducing pain
Really?
I am indifferent. I wouldn't say no if he wanted too. That would be even nice.
Sure I would. Not just for me, but I feel it would help bond father and child. As it happens, I will probably not have any children, as my career is too important.
Yes, he's the most supportive person in my life and I'd love to
Wouldn't mind either way
Oh he better ! We doing this together till the end
Of course!
Why?
Because I would like them for emotional support, want them to see what we both created. It's a bonding moment.
Nope!
Why not?
I feel like it's my personal time... + I don't want him seeing that... not many men bounce back from that sight...
Yes. He should always be by my side
Absolutely!
Why?
Love and support. To feel less alone. To ease my anxieties.
Yep.
