Why does my boyfriend's ex girlfriend want to be my friend on FACEBOOK?

I don't understand why my does my boyfriend's ex girlfriend wants to be my friend on FACEBOOK?

She has recently sent me a friend request. 1st of all I didn't know she existed till one day I asked my close girl friends about her and they said that she recently have a bad rep with sleeping with guys and etc, and they think she still have feelings for him because she has old pictures of them up on facebook still from when they were in high school ( he isn't tagged and doesn't have nothing up on his about her lol) He broke up with her a long time ago, and told her straight that he wants nothing to do with her, and they have no contact whatsoever. He also told me that he regret dating her, and he knew that she would of tried and add me on facebook someday. lol :s

He also has a new facebook account and she isn't his "friend" ..

I have no clue why the heck would someone send their ex boyfriend new girlfriend a friend request on facebook! lol what do you all think?!?!?! guys?!?!?! Girls? :)

I don't see what the big deal about adding her on Facebook would be? Actually if you do add her it would show her that you aren't intimidated or phased in the slightest.

And yeah - don't believe when he says he regrets dating her, usually that's a lie and just told by guys to warrant off questions from the NEW girlfriend. lol

Obviously not everyone is the same, but my ex told his new girlfriend that I was a stalker, etc and then contacted me and told me he was breaking up with her and wanted to get back with me. lol So don't trust that one.

And just know that if he's talking bad about her then when and if you and him break up he will do the same to you. It never fails.

But back to the Facebook thing, just add her and see what she says. Maybe she's nice and just wants to be friends? Just cause there's a history there doesn't mean a thing. I'm sure she's over it. The pics of her and him on Facebook is nothing as well - a lot of people put those kids of pics up. I have a few friends that are happily married and put pics up from their prom and they were obviously with other people.

From personal experience (except it is my now ex's bf's ex 'fling') They do it to try and torment you, tell you about things she and your boyfriend did, how much he loved stuff with her, etc and mainly to sus you out to tell you that you aren't good enough or whatever, could also be because she wants to see things he is doing via your account, on facebook if you have a friend added they generally can see the profiles of other friends and posts by other friends on your wall, unless they have privated their page. as you would know, so maybe she just wants to stalk/ monitor him.
