Why would my ex's friend send me a friend request on Facebook?

My ex and I broke up 6 months ago and it ended badly. I deleted him and his friends off Facebook recently and now one of his friends has sent me a request. Why do you think this is? To snoop and see what I'm up to, maybe?

After a friend has broken up with someone, the other friends shouldn't care to be friends with the one they were not friends with from before that's relationship started. Normally when they do this, especially if its of the opposite sex. Its because their trying to get with that person. Which is what buddy is trying to do with you.
