No. In reality, there is no such thing as rights.
Rights are creations of societies which help make them stable. In a society, to get you to participate (whether you want to or not), you have to give up certain freedoms. To compensate, you are given rights.
For example, suppose you lived outside of a society and lied saying "Joe Blow is a child-raping douche!" Joe gets pissed off and is coming to kill you. You have to protect yourself to survive and may even need to kill Joe. However, if you lived in a society, you might have a "right" of freedom of speech and could safely say that without Joe legally killing you. However, Joe also has a right to take you to court to sue you for slander and defamation of character to punish you for your slanderous lies.
Anyway, back to happiness, no, you have no right to it. You need to function in a society with the rights and opportunities that you do have to manufacture your own happiness.

Everyone has a right to be happy and for the most part, their happiness is under their control. There is a certain amount of effort required to sustain happiness but for the effort of making others around you happy, it's well worth it.
I think so have the right cause if your not everything becomes a choir.

Being happy can never be a "right". The "pursuit" of happiness is the best you can hope for. People are rarely completely happy anyway, nor do most understand what they really need to be happy. Being content and at peace is the best you'll can hope for most of the time. Some will always choose to be unhappy regardless or make decision that will bring grief on their lives.
The "right" to be happy. How would you even define that?He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life.
Well, it's different for everyone. For me, I can't truly be happy unless I have earned it or, achieved something significant.
O dont understand the whole question. i can't wrap up a system inqhich happiness is somehow bought. Or given out i can't see where some outside force could determine when or if im happy or not. Seems to me that its all upto me. My mind end emotions dictate my happiness with what ever situation im in. Its all up to personal choice. I mean we cpuld both bite the same food and one ne happy with it and the other disappointed.
I think people have a right because it’s something we all deserve to feel. We have every right to feel good about yourself and love everything about yourself.
Happiness is an attitude. You just have to adapt it. Do not attach your happiness to things or people. Just appreciate little things in life.
Everyone has a right to be happy, but it should be earned.
People have a right to the pursuit of happiness, however that happiness should be earned. Nothing should be an entitlement.
You won't realize its worth until you earn it.
None of that. Happiness is a personal decision.
Happiness comes from within so I guess it's earn?
Nobody has a right to anything in this world.
