Why doesn't my boyfriend call me pretty nicknames?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 7 months now. I've noticed that he never calls me boo, baby, cutie, the only thing he ever calls me is princess but its rare when he does. It really hurts me because I'm just that type of needy girl. I often wonder if its me or if its just him. I have talked to him on many occasions and I have told him how I feel about this and that I would love it if he was just to show me a little bit more of his love. At the moment he does call me pretty nicknames and such but the next day or in a week he stops. He tells me its just him, that he doesn't like to say those type of things or he doesn't like to be called baby or anything like that.

I really want to know what the deal is with him. So can anyone PLEASE help me, I really don't want to end our relationship because o this but its something that really hurts me.

Honestly I don't think it means anything bad that he doesn't call you the cutesy nicknames. when he does use a nick name it is princess you said which obviously means he thinks very highly of you. A lot of guys use nick names if they are cheating so they don't mess up the girl's name they are with. Some guys think it means they are less of a man if they use cutesy names like that and some just really don't like saying them. Give it and him time. Tell him you want him to make you feel special rather he does that by words or actions you don't care, but you want to be reassured on a regular basis that he truly cares for you.

Well, there are a lot of guys that just really don't go for the mushy nicknames all the time (I'm one of them). Just because he's not using some cutesy nickname all the time doesn't mean he doesn't care about you.

Also, the idea of breaking up with somebody because they don't call you baby or cutie or whatever just blows my mind? Women really will find absolutely any excuse to be unhappy won't they?

Nope. High maintanence girls* require a bit more to be happy. Women don't. You haven't dated women (no matter the age) if that inaccurate generalization in your answer is all you have to show for it
