I am probably more fit to handle a girl so would want my first child to be one, but once I got the hang of taking care of her I would want a boy as my second!
I would know how to raise and care for a daughter from birth such as Potty Training but Teenage Years Boys are much easier!!! My SO has a son who I've bonded with...
I don't want kids. If I had to choose then I would go with a son. It will be easier for me to connect with him because we are both male. And every boy needs a father figure to become a true man.
I've for some reason always imagined myself with a daughter. I guess I like the whole idea of a, "daddy's girl". But I'd probably want a son as well, to teach proper manliness to.
Exactly my dad lol (I’m 16 not 20) my dad taught me boyish things and a lot of sports, but I was also a feminine daddies girl who would twirl around in frilly dresses lol. It’s weird how girls always gravitate towards the father, and boys to the mother.
@Kaytiee Actually it makes sense. We tie ourselves to the parent of the opposite sex because we are naturally created to be with one another as man and woman. A father for a daughter and a mother for a son acts as role models for young children and precursors for what they are to expect from the opposite sex.
Yeah I was thinking about that, in fact we had this exact same conversation in the car yesterday. I think also for me, with my mum she’s hassling about everything and 90% of the men in my life it’s just, get in the car we are going to shopping. Simplistic to to say, but with my mother it takes her 2 hours to get ready and her shopping trips are planned weeks in advance. So that’s one thing I always enjoyed about my dad.
@Kaytiee Mm. But honestly I'd wish for my mum to be a bit more planning. Similar to the shopping thing, (and this annoys me so much) she very often decides in advance to make this or that for dinner but never makes sure to check she has everything she needs, she just presumes without planning. And then she's annoyed when an ingredient is missing and has to go shopping, just check in advance for goodness sake. I myself am very structured, which according to my mom I inherited from my dad.
Me too, I’m very structured but “quick” I’d rather have your mum then sit at the bottom of the stairs watching her run about for two hours until saying “ready!” She can be tiring sometimes.
@Kaytiee Oh man yeah, mine does that too. Literally every single small thing, which we are perfectly capable of taking care of when we come home, she has to do before we leave. So I know to always add approximately half an hour to whenever she says, "Let's go".
And they always say it in the same tone “ready!” As if she was quick or the one that was ready first! 😂 and I’m sat here thinking, we’ve been sitting here for a good hour!
@Kaytiee And then they get annoyed when you're sat in the car and they're like: "What, look at the time, we're gonna be late, my gooddness!!" And you're just suppressing the urge to tell them off XD Like, mom, watches exist, you should look at them from time to time!!
I would really love to have both but if I had to choose I would choose a girl as I have always wanted her to have my Mum's middle name especially more so now since my Mum passed away either way I would love my child no matter what
@MotherlessDaughter I don't know. I kinda want my son established so he can take care of my daughter if need be. Also it symbolizes the end of an era when your girl moves out. She might not be getting married but she'll be out into society as a free woman.
I dont have all the girly stuff down and sons are often close to their mother

Daughters are usually easier to raise; they're better behaved, they don't get into as much trouble with the law, they take care of elderly family members more.

Very good question, and very difficult as well. I honestly can’t choose one over the other.
My first son will always be my favorite but I spend more time with my daughter. Glad I have both

If I can only have one since only have one I guess it'd be a daughter. I would really love a son though.

I can’t decide 😂😂😂 either way it’s a rocky road to going broke

Freud pops in my mind somewhere when I read "daddy talks"
I don’t know about yours but to my mum a 2:30 appointment means setting off at 2:30 😂
@Kaytiee Haha yeah, she can be a bit like that too.
@anon1903 What? I never said "daddy talks".
I know, but you were getting at it
For the poll, I would chose a son because I would relate to a son more than a daughter.
Definetely a son. I'll make him try out different sports (probably hockey/soccer) and always be there to cheer for him :)
Future Hockey mom's represent!!! Get a cowbell for the games, it's the best noisemaker it there!!!
I would really love to have both but if I had to choose I would choose a girl as I have always wanted her to have my Mum's middle name especially more so now since my Mum passed away either way I would love my child no matter what
A son. Wouldn't mind a daughter though. Hopefuly not more than 1 kid though 😅
If I wanted to have children, I would rather have a daughter. I wouldn't know how to raise a boy, it would be awkward.
I feel like I could teach a son much better. I could teach him to be a real man.
A daughter. I'll be her protector and her best friend.
I want a son first & a girl second. I want my daughter to leave the house last.
~Mr Bails Extraordinaire
Why last?
My dad felt the same way he wanted me to leave the house last because I was a girl and girls are more vulnerable

I would like to have both but I would like to have a girl. A lot of boys are born in the family so be nice to have more girls.

I'd rather have a tomboy daughter that was interested in sports and gaming but still looked like a girl.
My man 🤣
