She told my friend to go back to her home country twice. Since my friend is non-white and has indigenous latina features, she got told that.

The shocked on that lady's face happened when my friend said ''I am in my home country, I was born in FL'' and showed her ID. The lady got reported and she tried apologizing but got fired afterwards.

That lady apparently thought every native born US citizens are white, nor realizing many immigrants have children here too, not realizing US is a melting pot.

It seems a little heartless to fire someone because of something other people actively tried to avoid teaching them. But it's also the case that it is neither your nor your employer's responsibility to teach someone to be a decent human being.

The lady has been trying to ask for a 2nd chance and tried apologizing again but nope, they aren't letting her back in. Good.
I just wanted to share the incident though. I added an update about the lady.

Yeah, she should not be given her old job back for several reasons:
1. Her existence as an employee would continue to create an uncomfortable workplace for your friend and any other persons of color.
2. She isn't repentant about what she said. She's repentant about being caught saying it. She still has the opinion that she had that got her fired and probably even more so now.
3. Giving her her job back doesn't teach her the lesson that she needs to learn which...
4. Her having to suffer finding new work (and not getting a recommendation in the process) is the sort of lesson to be learned in The School of Hard Knocks.
