Your not even sure he said a cuss word , then he didn't yell at you loud enough. Maybe you should seek work in child care or something less abrasive to your fragile feelings. If you can't handle yelling , screaming, or anything else like that, then life is going to be upsetting to you. My first job was working with race horse's, the guy I worked for use to call me The little shit. I was 14 and I never once complained or cried. The guys who did show weakness when called names and such , would be treated even worse. My boss looked at one guy and told him" See that little shit over there?" Go ask her how to be a man. He was in his early 20s I was 14. To this day over 20yrs later my old boss doesn't know my name. I was his mother's funeral director and he still called me the little shit. And it still doesn't bother me. Good luck life is going to be really mean some times , hopefully you will be able to survive by thickening your skin or your going to be very unhappy person.

Never work in customer service it isn't the co workers that yell but the customers lol. Anyways your co worker probably yelled and swore out of the near accident that really could have hurt him. All you can do is try and get passed it and just basically get over it. Im sure he has.
A person can't be fired for yelling. Especially if said person was almost hit by a flying piece of wood lol. If the person unnecessarily yells at a certain person continuously over a long period of time, then that may considered harassment (and grounds for reprimand).
Neither. It is what it is. It's UNDERSTANDABLE.
Who knows what kind of workplace accident could have occurred because of the wood chipper incident? His eye could have been taken out. Maybe the machine would have been broken... maybe this maybe that. You tell me because that's your line of work man.
Anyway, the point is that he got hella upset, rightfully so. He could have been seriously hurt. You work in the Labor business right? I'm sure you've heard stories of guys dying on the job or ending up in the Emergency Room. Your line of work isn't a fucking joke.
So, no he didn't go over the line necessarily. It'll be going over the line if he doesn't let it go... like if he keeps giving you shit about it from not until the day you retire. As for you, keep a watchful eye out. Try to develop more of a spine. Plenty of people yell in this world. Yes, we should try to control that but you should also understand that it happens. Don't be intimidated by it.
No, he should not be fired for yelling. You did make a mistake and your co-worker almost got hurt. Realize you probably scared him, and also angered him. Those were emotions you created in him. I don't think he crossed the line of any verbal abuse or harassment with you that would justify any reprimand. Termination is a way overboard.

Your situation is unfortunate but realistically you won't be coddled your whole life. Your sensitivity is just as likely to cause a hostile work environment as someone raising their voice. Even if the sensitivity isn't a conscious decision you make.
you throw a board and almost hit him and all he did as yell at you now you want him fired...your the one who made the mistake and your whining about it this isn't his problem its yours
Lol just for yelling? in every male dominated work area you're always going to get yelled at or sweared at. Especially physical jobs you've just got to put up with it. Or swear back.
Well, if you hit someone, not that you did, he\she will shout.. and he\she should not be fired for that
Not a chance, you deserved it he had every right to yell at you. You could have injured him maybe seriously.
You didn't deserve to be yelled at. That's not to say he should be fired for it.
no cause what you did was an accident it was not done on purpose
Not really. You need to watch what you're doing. In this line of work, if you screw up, you'll get yourself or someone else injured or killed. I'd be pissed too.
Not fired he was obviously scared and mad. You could have injured him.
He shouldn't be fired
He shld be given a warning and not fire
