Mother abusing daughter while sibling don‘t do anything?

How would you find it if a mother was emotionally abusing her daughter (let‘s say 19) and the siblings would see it but not doing anything (like standing up for the sister or etc.)?

The question is whether the siblings would feel safe standing up for the daughter. Look at when the Catholic Church tortured and killed innocent people to acquire their wealth by accusing them of being witches. There was no way to defend those accused, as anyone stepping to their defense would automatically be condemned as a witch. Is it important for these siblings to remain in good graces with the mother? Do they fear what might befall them if they stand up for their sister? Not everyone is strong enough to fight for others. The daughter can discuss this with her siblings, but feeling entitled to have someone step up to her defense will likely only result in frustration and disappointment.

The reason my family is dysfunctional is because we argue and fight with each other about the problem.

yeah we love each other, but we always fight each other about each other problems. It’s not right, it’s not fair, it’s not acceptable.

But no one is perfect on how we try to solve the situation because of fear. We don’t want to live in a world of fear nor submit of what is wrong.

That happened to me all my life. I hate my mum. I’m the eldest so I bore the brunt of all her messed up problems. She is so dumb too so it was always really bad and her family would also egg her on and join in. She was completely psycho and even always got physically violent. When I got old enough to take sticks, belts, wires off her then she would tell people I broke her arm. She was pathetic.
