I have seen such stories on youtube. Guy hates cats. Girl brings cats. Cats and guy become inseparable and the girl becomes the third wheel

You should do whatever you want as long as you know how, and are willing, to take care of another creature for the 10+ years it lives. I am a little concerned that your boyfriend is not completely on board, though.
I love cats too but adopting a pet is a joint decision and requires the approval of all parties in the relationship. See if he is willing to adopt a dog or a bird instead.
Cats are jerks, the scene in the Godfather of the horse head in the bed was inspired by cats. Though my dislike might be because I am allergic to cats.

I watched a program the other day and it talked a lot about cats and it said they basically only bond to 1 person. So if you bond with a cat odds are the cat will like seeing you boyfriend as much as he does it.
How can someone hate cats? They're affectionate and cute but without the constant neediness of dogs. (I love dogs too, but they have no chill sometimes lol)
I would try to talk to your boyfriend and see if there is a way to compromise on the cat issue. If you sneak one in, WHEN he discovers it, it will be bad for the poor cat.

Borrow a large cat, like a tiger. Then when your boyfriend leaves take the tiger back and go buy a house cat. Then find a boyfriend who is good to you and likes cats.
