I've become more and more anti social as of late and it's progressed to me being borderline territorial with people entering what I believe is my own space and boundaries which are not to be crossed for any reason by anyone except my girlfriend or my dogs without being made unwelcome and outright told to leave up to or including forcefully removing the person from my space.
It's also trickled over to the point where I get frustrated when people who aren't my girlfriend text me as every time a blue light appears on my phone, I hope it's her as I only want to talk to her and have little to no patience for wasteful banter with anyone else. But my girlfriend, I'd talk to her about anything all day long and love every minute of it no matter the topic.
I find myself leaving family time early as I get bored and feel drained being around so many people at one time, especially since I don't enjoy banter with anyone else and all they want to do is exactly that, banter or even gossip, which is an action that makes me instantly lose any and all respect for anyone engaging in such activity to speak poorly of someone behind their back.
I'm anti social. I've come to realise that my worth to others is based upon my financial value. This has been on the slow rise as I've been getting older, people climb the career ladder, buy cars, start purchasing property etc etc. Anyways what I can contribute to that. Competitive field is incredibly minimal. So what has happened is I have fallen off the radar. Everyone's feeling the pinch and unfortunately the pandemic has only enhanced the need for more money to maintain the lifestyle we've all become accustomed to. I'm not anti social by choice but to maintain my mental sanity. I was taught on numerous occasions by a few guys that the only thing worth their while was between my legs. And since I feel I have more to offer than that I've not been able to stay tolerating the disrespect that comes from the type of person that would say that. I stay home and mind my own business. It's a waste of a life atm but it's not forever. When things start to lift with travel and stuff I will return to taking trips abroad again but in my own.
Yes, it's more peaceful & restful when there's no-one else around. No need to keep my guard-up. I can just live and be myself.
But open hostility to others & even seeing little/no value in time with family may be a little too much. Of course, I can understand that different families can have different (even abusive) dynamics, so this speculation of mine should be taken with a grain of salt. (But in my case, all my grandparents have already passed-on and my parents had me late, so they are now in their 60's amid a pandemic aiming at elders, my older-sister's career could potentially bring her all he way to a whole different U. S. State, while my own career-plans could being me all the way back to Asia if/when ever they come to fruition. So, any family-time we enjoy now is precious to me, given that our time together limited. And of course, we never know when Death's sudden appointment is. I was lucky Death was absent when my sudden appointment via car-accident just popped into my schedule, superseding all else.) But, that's just me.
I'm not Anti-Social.. But I have voluntarily become more asocial as I've gotten older.
Too many people today are hung up on having idiotic conversations on topics like activism, politics and/or religion and what I consider the more interesting aspects of culture and humanity like philosophy and art, have declined to near extinction.
I'm slowly finding myself less and less socially compatible with the people around me and try to stay on my sailboat as much as I can and am finding myself only going inland to shop for necessities or pickup someone.
I'm not really antisocial but I am introverted. I feel you about family. I don't like being around so many people at once either. I don't talk that much. When I go to my grandpa's house there's not much to do except sit there and talk and watch tv. That's it.
I like my uncle's house better because there's more space. If I want to hide somewhere, I can just lock myself up in one of the rooms upstairs since two of my cousins moved out. I'm a bit shy too. My aunt and one of my cousins think I'm too shy

The older I get the wiser I get. The wiser I get the more I see through peoples crap and realize that us as a species completely suck. I have my own unique ways of adding to the suckage of our species, not that I’m so prideful as to think my crap doesn’t stink. The more I realize what a bunch of self absorbed, self deceiving, lying, manipulating, deceitful, selfish, divisive, gaslighting, and narcissistic lot the human race has become, I can see distancing myself from others is best. Outside of this app I communicate very little with the majority of society and go out of my way to interact as little as possible with the majority of society.
Aside from discovering how toxic the majority of our species is, I take little interest in most of what the rest of society does, excluding politics. I like European medieval history. I like history in general. I study the Bible often. I like fishing, and hunting and shooting all largely solo affairs. What I don’t like is superficial crap and it seems to me most of society does. So I find nothing worth discussing with others or engaging in with others most of the time. I find I’m more peaceful and calm and happy avoiding others. I feel like I should change my door mat from saying “Welcome” to “Go Away.” In short I’ve found over time I’m gone from being an extrovert to an introvert by choice, not likening people and at times being overtly hostile to them in real life. I find isolation from the rest of society is good and I find I do not like society as a whole. So I simply just cut myself out of interacting with people as much as possible.
Make a fundamental confusion between asocial and antisocial.
Anti-social is a personality disorder characterized by a long-term pattern of disregard for, or violation of, the rights of others as well as a difficulty sustaining long term relationships. In short, a violent psychopath.
Asocial instead refers to the lack of motivation to engage in social interaction, or a preference for solitary activities. Asociality may be associated with avolition, but it can, moreover, be a manifestation of limited opportunities for social relations.
I'm introverted and can be anti-social at times, but I'm not rude and I definitely don't act like that towards people. I don't even see how your family or anyone else (including your girlfriend) wants to be bothered. Like I get being drained being around people and all because some people are legit energy drainers, but to talk about forcefully removing people and all that? Yeah, no. It seems like you get set off very easily.
What you are feeling is not surprising given what we've all been through over the last 18 months - 2 years. before Covid we were used to having our 'personal space' compressed but we have now got used to the enforced distancing and it will take some time before we get used to being physically close to people who are not members of our immediate family.
I am introverted, I don't know if I'm anti-social. Pandemic made me even more introverted. Due to pandemic I lost 2 years of high-school, the time when you should socialise, have a first girlfriend etc. But thank God I started to become more social recently.
I am pretty much anti social but since the pandemic i got a little worse. I had gotten use to people not being able to come over and once they started back, I found myself naturally annoyed but I try my best not to be.
For me, one of the levels of Hell would be being forced to interact with people in a crowded room. I tick most of the boxes for high-functioning Asperger’s Syndrome.
I'd say yes. Since I got bullied in school I never really managed to get any self confidence or build up a social circle. I still suck at being social and have outside my family no people
I am not anti-social at all, and you sound pretty angry. You want to be a cop, right? Being anti-social and angry is a recipe for disaster if you somehow become a cop.
