And it was because you sent them to a psychiatric hospital as a teen on a misdiagnosis and as a result they've had a completely dysfunctional relationship with their mental help and since then the PTSD from the experience has been so bad that they were bed ridden some days.

Well that’s very specific. I’d be devastated— both that my child is cutting me out of their life and also to realize that there was a misdiagnosis that resulted in so much trauma.
