What are some opinions you have about parenting that if you were to say them out loud it would make people mad?

This is not hypothetical for me. I don't hold my feelings back. I'm not around children that much. Most of the time it is other people's grandkids. I was sitting at the Airport In Houston a few years ago when a lady was asked by the airport staff to not let her small son get behind the gate desk and pull out things. Yes, a real monster! I looked at her and said something I won't repeat here, she got up and walked away. I have a glass display of old watches and music boxes in my living room. I remember having a small child actually go into my kitchen and get a case knife to pry the door open. I just caught him as he inserted the knife. Needless to say, she and that child left VERY soon afterward!

For now, it would be that many people should not and do not deserve to have kids.

Also, people of poor genetic stock should not breed. Including poor people.

Single mothers are bad for kids - see the stats. Kids need both a mother AND FATHER.

Finally, SOME parents of mass shooters and violent criminals should be charged for being negligent parents and hurting society by contributing to the crime rate.

I have more offensive opinions I may add later, but for now I can't be arsed.

I disagree because I think those born were born by design by God. But that's where I stand. God doesn't love people any more or less for genetic inferiority. Perhaps forms need to be filled out for breeding though so we know who is SERIOUS about it and who isn't. Ah but that would never actually work because people lie. But people who breed and dont take responsibility should be locked up while working a job from behind bars for a full 21 years and that'll learn them. Spousal abusers, cheaters, and sexual predators should have their reproductive organs removed and they should be branded on the face and also barred from every receiving welfare if they fall flat on their faces.

Stop telling your kids to be grateful every five seconds. Yes, back in your day your parents didn't do xyz, you didn't have xyz, you never got to go to xyz, but you're the parent now and it's not your kids fault they didn't suffer your childhood or that they get the things you didn't, now. Your job as the parent is to make things better for your kids not stand there and say forever and ever how much they should be grateful to you. You had them, not the other way around.

I believe bad behaviour should be punished and I know a lot of North Americans are uncomfortable with the idea of discipline but the bible itself says that punishing bad behaviour is a moral obligation and not doing so is a sin. I would never use severe punishment though, a slap on the bum, or a light slap on the hand, or no tasty sauces and spices in the dinner I serve, or no Netflix for one month, or no rides to friends homes, that’s my idea of punishment.

That girls and boys should be raised differently.
That parents should always show that they agree with each other in the eyes of the children. For example, if one parent has allowed the child to do something, the other should go with that decision even that they don't agree.

Your children are not your friends, and you are not their friend. You are their parent, and sometimes that requires tough love.

The goal of parenting is to make yourself unnecessary, for the child to be able to take care of themselves.

Let them be kids. Early elementary school kids should not be at school all day then come home and do homework. They should be outside running around.

Parents who let their kids get fat without a medical reason should be arrested for child abuse. They are killing their children by letting them get fat.

Children should be spanked, although it shouldn't be the go-to punishment for every minor infraction.

Girls will be raised to be marriagable ie focus on homemaking and moral instruction over school certainly not sending them to college.

Boys will be working with their hands starting at young age. Doing car maintenance and home repairs. Building brick wall around my property. Stuff like that.

Ideally, I agree with you that the parenting should be left up to PARENTS.

But parents need to show personal responsibility.

Look at the stats on single moms.

If parents hurt society through their poor parenting, they should be held accountable.
