Have you ever been told that you wouldn't be a very good parent? Why?

I never wanted kids for a very long time as I have bad genetics and hereditary diseases. I was told at the age of 17 that I wouldn't make a good mother because of me loving sleep and other things. Have u ever been told something like this?

Someone told me once that I'd make a bad parent because I'd let my kids do whatever they want and while he was wrong, he wasn't far off because I am going to raise my kids to pursue their goals and not to be stopped wavered or distracted by stupid bullshit like some silly guy in his 30's who brings a lunchbox to work and wants to tell you how they would be living your life if they were you.

Yeah I don't plan on having kids, but if it happens I'd go for it. I've had people say I'd be a bad father, bad parent, I should never have kids, that I physically can't have them, or that I shouldn't be around ANY kids for various reasons. But no I think I'd be a good dad. And I'm good with kids. People who know me know that.

When I was a teen I would cause a lot of trouble and my mother told me I wouldn’t be a good mom since I wasn’t a good daughter. I changed my ways and I work w kids w problem behavior so id say that’s changed

Yeah, when I was younger I've been told that.
I just told them no shit, I'm 16, I wouldn't be able to take care of a kid now.
Some people seem to also tell others, while they themselves would suck at being a parent

There's IVF and they screen for hereditary diseases. I don't think you'd be a bad parent. You just sound kind of upset about something and got a negative attitude because someone might've said something stupid to you.
