I wish I had a best friend, do you?

I've been sad all day. I just realised I'm seriously craving a best friend. Someone who can come over when I'm lonely and be like a sister to me. Someone I can watch movies with, and eat junk and tell secrets to. I wish I had a best friend.

Yes and No. I feel that my best friend should be my partner so in that circumstance, yes I 'd want a best friend. If my best friend is just/only a friend, then no I don't want a best friend as that relationship is useless to me.

I dont think its healthy to rely on a partner to be your best friend. I mean sure of course your life partner is your best friend, but I mean you do need an actual best friend, everyone does.

Personally, haven't had a best friend in over 5 years and I prefer it this way. I find friends in general are too much investment not to be something "more" as they generally don't provide much value to my life.

I've felt that way in the past but only for people that aren't really close to me. I've found myself exhausted of the thought of socialising with new people because I know it won't be an important friendship.

What I do want is something worthy to hold onto, and I do find a best friend is very useful for someone like me with no siblings or close family of my age. Someone I can just talk to about things we can both relate to and chill together

I wish I had a female best friend. I’ve never found a good female friend, girls have always stabbed me in the back or stolen my exes. I’ve always felt like I’m missing out when I see other girls with girl best friends, and I’ve been called a slut or other names for having male friends, even though they’re platonic friends.

Me too and I wish the best friend and me were a little similar but also different, like we would both have this weird love for water and always go to the beach and be beach bums and go on trips to Canada to see the beautiful scenery and love Starbucks

I think so, yes. And I never really felt like I did before... I now have a friend group at work and one of them in particular id say would be considered my best friend. He also claimed that we became best buds pretty quick. It's a nice feeling to have good frends... I had pretty shitty friends in middle and high school

Yeah that would be great to have that one person your super close to. I have a couple of friends but we don’t have that super close relationship like your talking about. We barely see or talk to each other it sucks :/ I just think we’re so different.

I had a best friend but tbh she wasn't that great of a friend. She wasn't a bad person but she could be rude and it would upset me when she got like that.

I have other friends but we aren't very close, I do have a good friend but she doesn't have time to hang out like I want from a best friend. I can't 100 percent be myself around her like I would with a best friend even though she is a very good friend

I just dont think its healthy to rely on your spouse to be your best friend. Like I said in the other comment, of course your life partner will also be a best friend to you but to give them that role and not have another best friend is definitely not a good thing, to me anyway.

There has nothing to do with gender here too. My best friend is a male and I have more male friends than female friends. But yes it depends on how much comfortable you are with the opposite gender. For me I can share every single thing with my male friend and he too shares everything with me.
