1. Trust yourself more than any adult. Most adults really haven't learned much.
2. Take care of yourself. Other people are responsible for their own emotions.
3. The world is full of liars. Governments and churches are built on corruption and lies. Trust your own judgment in regards to what they tell you.
4. Listen to your heart, it's smarter than your mind.
5. Keep your body healthy. It is the only thing you will ever own in your life.
6. Don't value money over people.
7. Don't take advice from someone who is living a life that you don't want to live.

I like it. I feel like I could have wrote this list. Someone disliked it though lol. But it is true, as you become an adult you realize the people you thought knew everything don't know anything. Only thing I might change is I would say the only thing you can require and own is your mind.

I agree I think school in general is best for building habits in which you can apply to important matters and your life path after school is over. Thus, I think kids asap should know who they want to be in life. Unwise there will be no motive and no direction to start using school to build winning habits.

Last item on your list is pretty ominous. I guess the only advice I would give beyond what you have written here is that I would tell my kids to never stop hoping.

No matter how bad things get, never stop hoping for a better tomorrow. Even more than that, never stop being willing to pursue that hope; as long as it's realistic.
