Earning a living is respectful in itself. Anyone who says otherwise is generally just human excrement not worth listening to.

As for your question: Do you want to? If you do this and find you are happy doing so I fully support it. However if it is out of fear to try for something else or another reason, of course we can't in good faith endorse it. I know many people in various positions of society today. Any of them who ever held a job akin to mcdonalds, a larger superstore or alike still list it in their resume. It says a lot about a person who can do such stressful things well and be proud enough to display it. That said, settling is bad. It is only settling if it isn't what you want.

That’s $46,000 a year. Not embarrassing at all. Though I would encourage you to go to college if you can afford it or get a scholarship.
