We don't owe our moms anything?

Don't get me wrong we have everything in this world good parents and bad parents. I had a horrible mom. She used me as her maid , nanny etc. Now the few times she has seen me she has threw things in my face. No asked people to bring innocent children into this world so why do people think that we owe our parents when they treated us like crap. I know I am going to get so much hate but I don't think people are obligated to be a door mat for the parents.

No. Children do not owe their parents anything. If it's about respect and love, the more that no one owes that to anyone, even to their parents. Children did not ask to be born in this world. Parents did it. Parents are responsible for raising their children and give them the best life in the best they way they can. Parents should always remember that children are humans and not mere possessions or robots. And the investment parents give is love, and love is not supposed to be counting who owes someone this and that. If you were given love and respect, you give love. But if you were not given love and respect then you don't you shouldn't give that to anyone just because they are your parents. It's as simple as that

It's not about owing them anything but we should at least be grateful for our moms. They could have easily aborted or chose not to care for us but they did. And that alone is enough to be grateful for.

This can’t be generalized, yes for bad moms but there are great moms out there. Does throwing stuff on you make her the most horrible mom, did you go to hospital? That’s nothing compared to girls who are sold to prostitution by their own moms or parents. Where I come from, under age girls are sold off to men who are 30 years older for marriage. You need to know that a lot of people had hard serious life challenges growing up, sexually violated, abandonment, grave body harm etc.
