When we do stop being our parents' little kid?

My 19th b-day is within 2 months, I'll be moving out soon and my parents (esp dad... he doesn't seem to understand I'm grown-up already) still think I'm their little kid.

My friends are coming and my father is going to likely embarrass me on my b-day doing his lame, old jokes, addressing me by my nickname from when I was a kid, sharing my pictures from my younger years, my favorite cartoon till age 11, etc. Until last year he still wanted to take me camping because that's what I used to enjoyed doing with him when I was little. I'm not their little kid anymore.

When will they stop seeing me as a little kid? I'm grown up already and got my own life. I'll be moving out soon.

Never. You're still their baby to them and always will be their baby no matter how old you get. yes, you have a life and yea it might seem frustrating.
