+1 yHmm, I think I become a quiet and reserved person while growing up. As a kid and until high school, I was quite loud, fun and talkative, but eventually, I shut off. I'm very quiet around new people or people I don't feel comfortable around. I tend to be under the radar most of the time because I don't like attention. One of the blessings (also curse lol) of being a quiet person is that you are good at observing. From this perspective, you see some things more cleary and can read situation/people

Same here! And other opinions are also the ones I can relate with.

+1 yI'm mostly quiet by nature. Even my mom will tell you, growing up I kept to myself mostly. As a kid, I was shy and had minimal social skills. If I talked to someone, it was because I liked or felt comfortable around them. Otherwise I'd keep to myself or not talk.
Now that I'm older, I'm not so much shy as I'm antisocial. I know how people are, so it's easier to be quiet and keep to myself than deal with nonsense.00 Reply
Actually used to be very quiet but I was afraid of losing friends and sticking out. After school and a few work places and a few bad friends, you figure out , the people that like you for who you are will stick around you because they enjoy who you are. Loud or quiet. Some personality traits shine through that

+1 yI think I was always more on the quiet side because as a kid I was bullied a little bit. As I got older I learned to observe my surroundings and think more. I can be standoffish but Im not shy. Though, I do tend to keep people at a distance so there’s that.

I used to beat up other kids a little when I was little. Not like harsh beating, but more of as a response.
Everything else, same as you.

Well I was a very hype and talkative toddler but now you will barely see me talk. So silent that people may mistaken me as mute. I just love staying alone and quiet. There is a fact that it's deadly to stay alone and quiet for few hours because you know the calmness and peacefulness in that and you don't want to become social ever again. I guess something like that happened with me.
10 ReplyI’m a quiet extrovert. I almost always enjoy company but I’m not the most talkative person. I’ve found that oftentimes people who talk the most are the most ignorant and tend to say foolish things.

At times, I have been that foolish things talking person. But I am slowly learning from it.
+1 yIf you get told your voice is annoying often enough, you are gonna use it less.

I am a bit slow at speaking. I stutter with some words. No too much, a 4 on 1 to 10 scale.
But my mom gets irritated by that, and raises her eyebrows and that exasperated look on her face.
I got that I would also get the same reaction from other people like her.
My friends and other classmates on the other hand understand that.
I generally prefer to speak in English. As I have noticed that I have problem while speaking in my own tongue, but no problem with 98% efficiency in English.
I am working on my problem by reading more and more and singing songs. Singing too, alone.
Even if I'm extrovert, my extroversion is less noticeable by talking. People prefer generally others hear what they have to say and observe your reaction or are expecting affirmation.
There are people who are gifted with natural eloquence but majority of people who talk a lot sound rather like they have logorrhea.00 Reply552 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. I'm pretty talkative, but my youngest brother is the quiet one. He has always been very quiet even though he was surrounded by 4 siblings (2 were very talkative) and parents. My dad also loves to speak, so we always tried to make him talk but he says only few words, speak only when it's needed otherwise he just answer with his expressions, lol. So, he's quiet by nature.

+1 yAlways been quiet. Mistaken for shy, but really just don't have a lot to say
11 Reply- +1 y
Me too! Don't have a lot to say or talk with. Useless talking is pointless!
I went from a loud, obnoxious kid to a quiet, awkward adult lol.

+1 yBecame quiet at school age. Mum says I was a little chatterbox before that.

Became quiet when I was in 11th and 12th. The overwhelming syllabus plus the constant low grades in fortnight exams degraded the confidence even more. The regular syllabus was not the problem, but the very much extra syllabus for JEE preparation was going way over the head.

+1 yI am now. Basically outside of my family this is the only place I talk. Not at work. Not in public. I’m pretty asocial and trust no one. I used to be very outgoing until I realized the world is far fuller of scumbags than I realized.
00 ReplySelectively quiet haha... like yeah, life of the party and extroverted when I need to be but then I enjoy my quiet time too. So it depends.
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Inherently quiet. When I was a chil I would barely talk. My parents took me to the doctor for it. I also wouldn’t eat. It was weird. But I’ve been quiet all my life. I’m like my dad
