You start early and keep it age relevant.

basically as they start school you explain differences between boys n girls

With girls you obviously need to start discussing puberty, changes in body and periods before these things happen.

having a sex chat with a girl at 12 when she has been on periods for 2 years is a bit stupid.

it needs to be small pertinent bits of sexual education, sexual health, hygiene, as the grow up.

by the time they are 11 and starting big school (high school, comprehensive etc) they should know pretty much everything.

with my sister being bisexual and having a girlfriend, she new about same sex early and that actually made a lot of things easier to talk about.

it all needs to be factual with proper names for body parts.

    Areas that Ned covered are:

    Sexual education
    Sexual safety
    sexual health
    Consent
    LGBT
    Sexual hygiene
masturbation as in its not wrong, privacy etc
    Birth Control

Basically you give them enough factual information in pertinent chunks of information based on their maturity level, what they can absorb. For some you start at 6 others it may be 8, not everyone is the same.

The main thing is to be open and honest, always answer a question with factual information, be open and approachable always.

I was looking at porn at about 8-9 and doing stuff about then, oral at 11 and sex at 13.

    I never got told anything.

by the time your child is 14, they may have had sex, likely oral, watched porn and also masturbating, oh and it may have been same sex…

Still going to wait until 14 ?

@ChrisMaster69 👏👏👏 Perfect. Also using pictures within conversations would be a good idea.

When I was in elementary school, they taught this in the 5th grade. Although they talked about male and female anatomy, and pregnancy being the result of sperm meeting the egg, etc, they did not actually get into intercourse. I would say that "most" students, like myself, already knew. But I remember one gal raising her hand and asking, "If the sperm belongs to the man, and the egg belongs to the woman, how do the two come into contact?" The teacher gave a fairly decent low key explanation of it, but the young lady did still look confused. My friend sitting next to me could barely keep from laughing...

Age appropriate starts in elementary school.

Studies show that children as young as 8 find porn on computers and smart phones so sometime before that age to cover certain issues in a way they can understand.

For instance, the..."If anyone touches you or tries to make you touch them inappropriately, come to me right away" talk. And these talks are not just one time either, they are continuous over time.

This will make them feel comfortable to come to you with sexual issues and questions.

    Hope that helps :)

Varies. Though I would say the minimum age would be 8 to 10 depending on maturity. Also, that version should be strictly factual, or how the body works and about social norms and simplified reasons for safety etc. Age 12 is usually on the cusp of them having more of a grasp in the sense that they have had their first experiences of urges. When they are 8 to 10 its more something they will wonder why your telling them, but sometimes they can ask oddly insightful questions being free of the knowledge of why anyone would.

That all said, some children mature very young indeed. My friends daughter was so interested in babies when she was 6 or 7 that my friend didn't quite know what to do. Except to say the party line of, "well you can decide when your older, and have some experience". So I guess, just use your good judement and just avoid any trumatic learnings until their at least 14. in my opinion

Kids usually find out before the talk from wherever but I received one around 7 th grade in health class. Mostly it was just a anatomical class and didn’t not do much to explain the complexity of emotions that become involved in romance. So it’s tough to say, maybe 14?

. School taught me in the 6th grade. Pre teens seem like the best time as that is the time things change and and the body doesn’t make sense. Doesn’t matter how old you get it never seems like the ‘mature’ time

Probably 8 or 9; after that they will start "learning" from other kids at school or elsewhere. Plus, many girls hit puberty during this time and should learn about all of it at the same time.

7/8. But before that answering any questions they ask in an age appropriate manner. Using correct terminology.

About 4 years old, best to teach kids at a young age not mess with bees they will get stung and not to mess with birds or they will get pooped on.
