Are you generally a patient person?

Question

I am… My job and what I plan to gave a career in definitely requires a lot of patience.  But sometimes I lose my patience with things I don’t tolerate or certain people lol.

I agree with what you've expressed. I would consider myself a patient person as well, but there does reach a point where a line must be drawn. When we don't tolerate certain actions or behaviors I'm not so sure if it is a question of patience anymore. Something can simply not be tolerated, when respect is lost and boundaries crossed, patience breaks and therefore it no longer fits or serves the situation. You've done your part, you've been patient and now a different approach will have to be used that may not be viewed at as patience, but rather It's what's needed in order to resolve the situation and restore balance.

I used to be incredibly patient... in reality, I took a lot of abuse as an "internalizer".

That eventually resulted in me failing in areas, adrenal burnout, I have to be careful what stress I take on or I will physically fail.

I'm semi patient now. I'd suggest learning better skills to handle stressors, so you aren't discarding your own emotions. I don't recall the terms for this...

actually consider myself to be a quite impatient person in many aspects and it actually highly depends on my mental/emotional state. As a private person I'm also very strict about what I tolerate and how I allow people to treat me/behave around me.

But when I'm at the job, my patience is almost endless - I still have standards about behavior & what I will tolerate but that is not based on my personal standards. On days where my patience is less - I've coworkers who can take over and I'll do the same when needed.

Depends. I’m patient when it comes to appointments, medical procedures etc, and patient when it comes to building a career or hobby. But I am not patient or tolerant with people who try to manipulate me or guilt trip me into things, or people who gaslight me/act passive aggressive towards me.

It depends, what I have almost zero patience for is stupidity that adds stress to my life.

I'm the kind of person who can stay calm and have a productive conversation even with someone yelling at me. But if someone is just trying to start problems for no good reason. .. I'll make you question any confidence in yourself you think you have for the rest of your life.

The thing I lose my patients for. Is lazy people, I hate having to pick up the slack of others that don't want to pull their own weight.

When I have to work harder then the slacker. I tend to get pissed and will shoot my mouth off. Once I got into a fist fight over a lazy S. O. B.

yep... extremely patient, and a very tolerant person... because I had a lot of practice while growing up

and when you've dedicated years time to tutor and coach a bunch of youngsters... you sure need a lot of patience, lol...

It depends, in my job I've learned patience. In my personal life it really depends but for the most part I would say I'm not. Again it's subjective and depends on the situation. I have patient moments
