I meant sitting besides a person while in commute, or waiting in a line, or sitting in hospital.
You know normal places.

Well yeah... I AM that person! It's not like we're being rude or antisocial; we just prefer meaningful, necessary conversations, or chatting with people we know and trust, over idle chitchat. Or talking with people that we don't like or distrust. If I happen to meet another person like that, I respect them by not talking to them unless I have a question or need to address something with them. After doing so, I leave them be. Trust me, if we want or need to talk, we do.

Silence is a good thing sometimes. If you're too insecure to enjoy peace and quiet occasionally, then you need to work on being alone and happy.

yes... I am used to a LOT of this and more, I grew up in Mexico as well and used public transportation plenty of times

there would be very little that could surprise me or make me feel not comfortable, so being close to someone that is just passive is the most normal thing ever, for me... lol

I am confortable with silence in relationships but I would not want a partner who was silent most of the time.
