Is it rude if someone is constantly interrupting you or talking over you when you try to speak?

It's VERY rude and disrespectful. It's a real sore spot for me. It makes me feel like they think I'm invisible or aren't interested in what I am saying and weren't listening. When it happens, I often turn and walk away. Then the idiots stand there wondering what they did wrong.

My wife used to do it a lot. She still does but not as often because I told her how it made me feel. She said it's just the way people talk and she and her friends do it all the time. But it pisses me off. As soon as she sees my face and realizes that I shut down, she stops and asks me to continue. I mean, it's not like I am trying to dominate conversations or anything. But I believe in being polite and letting people finish their thoughts.

When someone is talking to you, you're supposed to listen and not be thinking about something else or what YOU want to say.
