Do you find it rude if someone tells you to "Calm down"?

"Rude" doesn't bother me... but people accusing me of something I'm not doing does.
i. e. Being told to "calm down" or "chill out" wouldn't bother me if I was actually annoyed (which is fairly rare)... but conversely if I'm already completely and utterly chill then being told to "calm down" or "chill out" is utterly misrepresenting me... and being misrepresented is basically the one of the few things that genuinely pisses me off.
Kinda ironic, I suppose.

Depends on HOW you say it. Tone and context matters. Sometimes people genuinely need to hear it sometimes it might make things worse and agitated them further.

Ya, that can be rude, but also I am neurodivergent, so social interactions are normally fraught with danger for me. I can misinterpret or misunderstand highly emotional communications.

If someone doesn't know how to handle a situation that is a deflective tactic. Tell them to F off (usually their own language so they will understand)

Depends on the source, but generally speaking, staying calm gets you further than not.

I don’t don’t find “calm down” to be frustrating, but interestingly enough I do find “relax” to be annoying. Especially when it’s from someone touching me like a massage therapist
