My parents won’t stop asking me for money?

I’ve given them probably thousands over the span of the pandemic and I’m burned out. I’m literally depressed having to give my resources away. I work hard to save and budget while my parents spend every thing they get. What to do?

You are enabling them. You are the problem. When you stop giving them money they will be forced to grow up.

I feel so guilty because despite their money problems they have been awesome parents.

I know. I have been there. Just say no. Offer to send them to a financial planner. (Pay the financial planner directly, of course)

I think a great reason to give them is that since you are not sure social security will be available when you retire, you have to plan for the future and are saving up for retirement.

Yes lol I’ll try that. I wish they will take this burden off me

It is difficult. I am sorry. Throughout my life sometimes I have had money and sometimes not. But when I didn't I found so many ways to be frugal and took advantage of free concerts, the library, etc. I may have been poor, but I never wanted. You learn to figure things out.

No it’s not because of the pandemic. They have always had money problems.
