If hispanic girls are family-oriented, why are some no longer having kids in their early 20's?

I've been dating two nice hispanic girls. Both were ages 20 and 22. They both came from a good upbringing.

Even thought both wanted kids eventually, they expressed it's too early now. Neither of them are ready and instead wanted to finish their major first and do other things, not raise babies. One of them made up her mind that she only wants 1 or 2 kids at most, not too much.

It seems that some more hispanic girls are delaying motherhood. They don't want kids in their early 20's. Why?

In the past more hispanic girls used to have kids early on and it became a nice, big family; 3-4 kids. Recently some of them have been taking longer on having kids and limiting it to 2 kids.

Modern "feminism" is telling women that being family-focused is wrong and encourages them to instead it's better to focus on wasting a decade or two of her life in university only get a stressful job which she will leave once she hits her thirties because her biological clock kicked in. This mentality has taken over western countries and is being spread to other countries as well. That as well as the idea that children are a burden, both socially and financially. People think that it's getting too expensive to have children (it's not) and that having a family will kill your social life (if you were hanging out with the right kind of people, it won't).

Says who? Maybe some of them are happy without kids. You don't have to have kids to be happy. If they're delaying motherhood to go to college and find a better paying job then it's actually smarter than popping out 4 kids like rabbits and relying on government assistance.

@ChicanaChick why do you need to relay on government assistance to have kids? You dont really. Also, MOST women will actually be happy with kids eventually. Just look at women in high earning careers, time and time again you will see top law firms struggling to keep their best female lawyers because they realize that family is actually more important than some job. Also, not having kids is not smarter when your screwing not only yourself (your biological clock still exists) but also the economy and society at large. As a woman, you're literally deciding the fate of the future when you're deciding not to have kids. Nobody cares if you're a waiter or have a masters in psychology (good on for your getting educated, maybe you can pass your intellect down).

Many are focused on education or training so they can get better-paying jobs. It’s actually quite smart. There’s still plenty of time to start a family.

I'm in my 2nd relationship and we both expressed wanting kids. Hopefully everything works out. I'm going to get tested for fertility first.
I have to admit it's partially my fault for being in this situation. One thing I regret not doing is dumping my ex boyfriend when my parents told not to waste time, that he won't ever marry you. I thought he would but oh well. What parents said did happened... he wasted my years.

it says you are 35. thats not too old. me and my wife (not hispanic) had a whoops baby last year. im 40 and my wife is 39. she was on an antibiotic and it messed with the birth control. i wish you luck and i will pray on it tonight.

Thank you for sharing your story. My mother had my brother (a whoops baby too) at age 36 and grandma (her mother) had her last child at age 41/42 without issues. Thanks.

There are more options for us at that age and now it's too expensive to raise 3-4 kids.

Unfortunately I got none at this moment. Yeah I'm still childless. I'm working on getting this issue solved. I'm currently on my 2nd relationship and trying to expediate the process.

At least I'm trying to solve my issue instead of doing nothing. There are fertility treatments nowadays and most female relatives in my family were fertile past their 40's.

Great-grandma (mom's grandmother) stopped having her period at the age of 60. I think I have their good genes... hopefully.

True. I had someone thinking that I'm a total disappointment, how I'm a coconut (that means only Latina by appearance but nothing else... everything else white) and someone else went to the point of saying that it's too late for me, how I would've been different if I had been born and raised in Mexico.
I don't see what's wrong with being more American. I think it's cool having lots choices and wanting to achieve other goals other than staying at home raising kids.
