Has anyone here tried calling your parents by their name?

I tried a challenge I found online to call your parents by their name and see their reaction.

I decided to try my mum. Her name is Adine. I was shocked that she gave me a stern warning at my age. Gosh. What do you think? Will you try it?

Lol, never once. I've actually probably said my parents actual names less then 10 times in my whole life.

I'm 31 for God sake, I'm not a children anymore. And I know it's disrespectful doing that. Maybe I'll be a parent someday and I wouldn't want to be treated like that.

I would feel like they said, "You're not my mom," just for fun. That would be hurtful, confusing, and troubling at the same time. That's just my own relationship with my kids, I know there are parents who have their kids call them by their first name.

I usually call my older family members (including parents, uncles, aunts etc.) by special nicknames. They also prefer it that way but I would never call them by their real name.
