Abused be extended family?

i was groomed and abused as a youg child by a member of my extended family never told anybody and feel it has damagedme since i was young … i was always shy as a kid but while growing up have never been able to create a relationship with anybody

how do i right this without ruining a family …?

I’m so sorry you had to go through all that, it’s a terrible thing what happened… I was also a victim and a close family member was the perpetrator. I grew up having a lot of trust issues and I’m too scared to get close to anyone - until I started going to therapy.

I think you need to find someone you’re comfortable with to confide in, you also don’t have to forgive your abuser just bc they’re “family”. They betrayed your trust and failed to protect you.
