Am I right in thinking this is rude behaviour?

My mum’s boyfriend keeps interrupting me when I stare an opinion or say something. He interrupts either to say that what I’m saying is stupid or wrong, and does it very dismissively.

eg.) I’ll say “I think war is wrong, and this is because..” and before I can finish my sentence he interrupts with “nah nah nah. I’ll stop you right there. You’re wrong about that. That is a stupid point that makes no sense.”

am I wrong in finding This really rude? He doesn’t even listen to what I have to say usually. And he gives me this condescending look.

Interrupting is rude whether or not he feels you are correct or needs to make a counterpoint. It’s really should be relegated to young teenagers and under. Adults shouldn’t act this way, unless you’re a politician here in the United States of course.

Next time, cut him off. Do the same right back at him. When he does that, you don't stop talking, you just continue talking and say, "Excuse me, I was speaking, and I haven't finished yet. Anyway, as I was saying..."

Thank you. She gives him a funny look but doesn’t say anything, I guess because he doesn’t realise how rude he sounds. I don’t think he means it intentionally, so. And that’s great and useful advice, will try that out thank you!
