I'll go between them.

However - in most cases a direct fight can be avoided when we understand some of the animal's nature.

The sad fact: cats often go on their solo trips, when we can't even be close. This way, we lost a clan member earlier this year.

I got chased by a pack of dogs while running a while back.

I had a stun gun. I had to face these dogs down on a country road and no one knew where I was. The stun gun kept them at bay for a bit while I grabbed a big stick. They hate it when a sharp stick goes in their throat/open mouth.

I‘ve been in that situation with various animals in my care, many times. Part of my job. Of course.

A dog filled with adrenaline and anger best not be pepper sprayed. They feel nothing. Grab the back ankle and lift ip like a cartwheel and back away with them. They lose all control.

I fought a pit bull after it attacked my dog. Luckily for me the pit was more stunned than angry at me. It had been friendly when it wandered into my yard, that is until it saw my dog.
