Friend put me in his vlog and it makes me uncomfortable cause I'm a private person. How do I address the issue without hurting his feelings?

I have this friend who I love like the brother I never had. He's a very special person in my life and our friendship means the world to me. We met through the community of a shared interest/hobby. He does vlogs on youtube related to this interest/hobby, mostly during outings of this hobby (which I will not specify here, for protection of his identity) and has included me in some of his vlogs. I, however, am a private person and am not comfortable with this kind of exposure. I know he means well, but I never had the heart to tell him cause I would never want to hurt his feelings. I would appreciate it if he removed the vlogs with me in them or found a way to edit me out; Or just at the very least promise no more vlogs with me in them. How do I address this with him in a way that won't hurt our friendship? I don't want to lose such a dear friendship over this. Thanks!

Rather than ask him to go through the trouble of editing you out of these vlogs, unless they’re like highly embarrassing or something and this is more about your comfort then I would simply ask not to be included in future blogs. One thing about feeling obligated to say yes too often is that you learn to respect your own boundaries and the validity in saying no. Think about it like this — if someone asks you to do something and you say yes, they won’t question your yes whether or not you your regret that choice. So why feel guilty about a no? You have the right to reject something without feeling like a jerk.

He should have asked before doing…but I would feel most horrible if I hurt a friend like you by being stupid…not thinking. I would hope you tell me rather than let fester and eat away at us…. Make sense ❓
