Is 5'8 and 140ish Ibs very tall and large for a 12 year-old girl?

I was visiting some relatives this weekend and this couple's daughter is 5'8. Her 12th b-day was on June 28th and she's already that height and frame.

She still has a childlike facial looks, still plays games and overall acts like the average kid. Is that very tall and large for a girl that's only 12 years old? When she was 11, she was 5'5.

She's definitely taller-than-average and has a healthy weight. I used to be 5'6.5 at 12 years old, but I was around 120 pounds. Even then, she's still at a healthy weight. She probably has a huge growth spurt--she might either be slowing down as an early bloomer or maybe she'll be 6 feet. She just happens to be much taller than the average person. There's a girl in my grade who is 16 and 6'2 and was 5'7 when she was 12 (I used to be a tiny bit shorter than her when we were in the same class). It's absolutely normal, just a bit out of the ordinary.

i put the height, weight, age in a bmi calculator and the girl is completely normal and where her weight should be for her height and age

I was her age once and neither me nor anyone in my classes were that of that height or weight. We were all just average kids at the time. I never knew a 12 year-old could be that tall. A couple members also were surprised and they all though she was older too.

Nothing wrong her. Its taller than average. Won't say incredibly tall or anything. She'll probs end up 6ft or just under at 5'11

most girls aren't that tall/weigh as much at that age but it happens. depends how far along they are with puberty. personally was close to that height at that age (like 5'6) and there were girls around the same age who were taller than me too

I was about her height when I was her age. It is quite a but taller than average but there is nothing weird about it.

Several people were surprised too. They thought she was older too. I rarely ever see a child already having the height and weight like an adult.

You and her are the exception I guess. When I was that age I recalled being just 5'2 and I haven't seen tall children at that age in my classes.

When I was in 8th grade and HS, that's when I started seeing taller kids but before that, nope.
