Were my parents behaving like Karens?

I am at my parents house, there was a young guy, maybe 18 he was walking his dog back and forth a bunch of times on the sidewalk in front of the house. This was driving my parents' dog nuts. My mother opened the door and got angry at the kid. He replied that it was a public sidewalk and my parents dog should be trained better and it wouldn't bark like that. Ultimately the guy started walking away. My dad went outside to confront him, but by that time he was gone.

The kid was technically correct, but don't know why he doing that. Apparently yelling is your parents MO still...🙄
