How could I possibly comfort him?

So my boyfriend lost his mom almost 2 months ago. His mom had a dog who’s really old and his dad decided at some point she’ll have to be put down because her health is getting worse. He’s dreading it already and I know it’s going to hurt him and his family as she was the closest thing to his mom. I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to comfort him. Any ideas?

Just be there. You don't have to say anything. Hug him, kiss him, hold him, stand by him, make him meals, etc. Just let him know you are there and that you want to help. Be his rock right now.
