My friend and I have been living in different countries for years. This year, for her birthday, I decided to surprise her and send her a gift (a necklace). Yesterday, she received the gift. She sent me a text "Hey, I got your gift". Not even a simple thank you. It really hurt my feelings since I spent a lot of time and money to get her a nice gift even though she NEVER bought me anything. How would you react if you were in my position?
For me I just stop giving gifts. Which is a shame as most of the things I come up with are made with a lot of thought and kindness and creativity. As I use to love making expensive custom jewlery. Which use to be a fun hobby.

Calmly. Good energy. Not let them know. Never ask. Try to forgive and forget 🤷🏻♂️

Ohhhh wait for days. Same thing happened to me. I gave my friend a diary and he didn't say thanks or anything. I really am expecting for a thank you. But he didn't do so.
The next next day, he chatted me and said thank you & i love you and he's sorry he didn't chat me earlier because he was so drunk and had a hungover. I'm happy he didn't forget to talk to me.
Maybe your friend had something to do, wait for a bitI'd follow up later with something like, "do you like it?"
Maybe she got it and liked it but someone interrupted her while she was texting and forgot.I would've said "Do you like it?" just to clear up any misunderstandings, lol.
If they say they didn't I'd ask why, whine that they didn't like it, and probably laugh about it.
