Girls, do you care if ur boyfriend or husband isn’t close with his family?

like he’ll go to family functions with her family but she doesn’t really interact with his family much. I only have one sibling that i’m close to a girl would meet we eventually became serious. Is it a red flag ever?

It depends on whether he really just doesn't have a close bond with his family or if he chooses to separate himself from his family and what his reasons are for doing so.
I'm sure I've already talked about this on here a few times, but I've been estranged from one of my sisters for many years now. She chose to turn her back on everybody for her own fucked up reasons and I can only imagine what she tells people if they ask about her family.

So yeah, I don't think it'd that big of a deal, but I'd definitely have some questions.

Well most of my family is dead now. My husband has a huge family here and in Mexico. I’ve met all and they are very sweet people. I look at his big sister here like another mother. I guess it would bother me if he wasn’t a family person. Everyone has differences but it’s still your family.

Well I'm super family oriented with my family and I like when guys are also like that with their families. But I also understand that it doesn't always work out that way. Shit happens. There are people in my family that I don't speak to so I get it. It wouldn't necessarily be a red flag but I'd like to understand what caused the rift.

Since I'm not close to my "family" (I have my reasons) I would prefer to be with someone who is family oriented.

However, if I had a boyfriend or a husband who had an issue with his family and didn't get along with them, I would respect him. It wouldn't be a problem to me.

Or if he was only close with one family member.

I do. My boyfriend is very family oriented. He’s been trying to get close to my family but they haven’t wanted to interact with him much.

No I’ll understand I’m not very close with my mom’s side or anyone that isn’t my parents or grandparents
