If someone gave you a monetary gift for your birthday can they have the right to ask for it back?

My toxic mother who decides to creep her way through my life after 20 years gives me a monetary gift but now she is wanting to give it back after she gave it to me 2 months ago. She can't seem to let it go that my dad divorced her 20 years ago

No, once you give someone a gift you can’t ask for it back, if it was a loan then yes they can ask for it back, but you don’t have to even give that back if there’s no signatures, she gave it to you willingly so she’s screwed, my uncle gave me money and now he wants it back, nothing has been signed it’s only word of mouth so he can go have a funny run cause he’s not getting it back. As long as you haven’t signed for anything then she’s buggered just ignore her.
