This guy knows a woman. She's a relative, they used to get along well but then they had issues and drifted apart.

In the meantime this guy is also married and has a baby. The woman wants to spend time with the baby, and he allows it up to a point.

Then he thinks her issues, anger and depression, are not good for the baby, so he starts making excuses and tries to make her understand she's not welcome anymore. A week later she dies because of an alcohol and chems cocktail. People say it's an accident but it's clear to me that this guy didn't see how his actions affected her and eventually caused her death.

No, that's not a thing. Murder by it's definition of premeditated, it is a deliberate and planned act. This is an accidental death (or a suicide) and unless he told her to do it, he's not remotely guilty.

Maybe but if she wasn't rejected and neglected maybe she'd be still alive

If she didn’t make life choices that made others reject her, she would still be alive.

Once, someone hurt my feelings so badly that I harmed myself. I cut the back of my left arm very badly while in a daze of depression.

When my friends saw, they blamed the person who had hurt my feelings. They said “if you weren’t mean to her she wouldn’t have gotten hurt!”

I stopped them and said “He did not hold the knife to my arm. I did. It doesn’t matter that he is the reason I was upset, nobody cut my arm but me.”

It was and still is true.

I still have the scars and it’s still my own fault they’re there.

I'm sorry you had to go through that and I hope you are doing better now. I understand what you mean and I appreciate it but I can't stop thinking that her death is my fault.

That is one of the stages of grief.

The pain of loss makes the human mind feel so many different ways all at once. Placing blame for circumstances beyond the control of ourselves and/or others is what all of us do for some reason…

One thing that really helps is to realize, this is not your fault in any realistic way…it’s just the grief talking.

Although the pain never fully goes away, it will hurt less someday.

I hope you feel better soon, and I’m sorry you had to experience this.
