Adding that I know not everyone is going to, depending on their personality, but normally in trivial matters friends shouldn't care, right?

I mean, it is not that it is something fatal like a betrayal (stealing your boyfriend/girlfriend, sabotage your school projects), a lie where someone's life is in danger, being aggressive and manipulative all the time, etc.

that shit hurts i been through it so many times i know how it feels. almost every year since i turned 40 up to now no one wishes me a happy birthday with the exception of my mom. i don't get any cake no cards nothing not even from the woman i love after all these years. i don't even get a happy birthday from any so called friends nobody it's just like another day to everybody

Everyone is different. What's important to her may not seem important to you, vice versa.

I don't think forgetting a friend's birthday is "trivial". Apparently she didn't either. And to brush off something that your friend cares about as "trivial" is pretty shitty as well.

As a friend I would've sincerely apologized for forgetting her birthday and made it up to her.
