How would you feel if your best friend forgot your birthday?

Like the question states. No call, text, or Facebook message. What would you do? Hold a grudge? How would you act the next time you two spoke?

I wouldn't worry about it, people don't always know what the date is or are focused on other things, its easy to forget. My dad forgot my birthday once; obviously if anyone asked him the day his daughter was born, but he was really stressed. He realized the next day and apologized heaps, so I was fine with it.

I would beat her up. Nah, depends on what she says. I wouldn't be mad or anything, I'd probably find it hilarious.

My dad forgot my birthday last year. It was the funniest thing ever, he was horrified.

It would hurt, because I would expect them to remember. But if they were really apologetic I'd forgive them. You never know,maybe they had a lot of things on their mind (it happens sometimes.)

Yeah, I'm not going to hold it against her. But I am going to celebrate it on Friday at a club. How should I go about inviting her? It will be really awkard if I have to call her and be like "Hey I'm celebrating my birthday this Friday." Even though my real birthday passed already but she still won't remember. She hasn't called me, and I don't think that she will call me unless she sees the birthday posts on my Facebook. What if she doesn't see them before Friday?

Yeah I would like for her to come but I would rather not be the one to have to call her :/.

Haha, I know how you feel. Honestly, if you don't call her what if she doesn't call you until a whole week later? Then you'll be ten times more furious. I think in this situation you should suck it up and invite her. I know it sucks to be the one to call :( but sometimes things like that does happen.

I know what you mean, that's why I don't tell everyone it's my birthday, just those that I care about.

Many of my friends had forgotten my birthday, so I don't really care. As long as my family and my sister remembers I am completely fine with it.

Id never hold a grudge if someone forgot my birthday.

But this is your "best friend" and say she has the same birth month as you do.

I completely understand, some people just have so many things to do that they just don't always remember important dates. Don't be angry at your friend, just remember to tell her happy birthday when its her turn and be the bigger person, you'll look better than her in that situation.

Her b-day was before mine, and I did call her for her b-day. At first I wasn't bothered at all and I am usually really understanding. I know we have a lot of exams this week but our other bbf took the time out of her busier schedule to call me. I kind of makes me feel a little bad. I won't hold it against her though.

Then you should confront her and tell her how it makes you feel, if you feel horrible that your best friend forgot your birthday, I do think its wrong, I mean she is your best friend.

That sums up what I have been thinking about, honestly. I didn't think I would feel this bad but it's been two days and still nothing. Tomorrow night I am planning on going to celebrate it out and I don't know what to do if she doesn't call me by then.

Oh, after reading some of your comments, it sounds like they just forgot it was your birthday. I wouldn't hold that against them at ALL, I never remember ANYONES birthday, my mum has to remind me every year when HER birthday is. I don't see it as being a bad thing.

Wow, I'm so sorry, that would hurt me a lot :(. Actually, when I called her for her birthday (a few days before mine), I really wanted to hang out with her because we haven't seen each other since school started, she said she just wanted to spend it with her family and her boyfriend and even that made me feel bad. Keep in mind this is supposed to be my closest friend, I don't care about regular friends.

Well, its up to her how she spends her birthday, really. Maybe she's got a lot of family traditions? And a bad memory. Does she know you're upset about these things?

No she doesn't have a lot of family traditions. She's my partner in crime...well she used to be. I guess it's just whenever she needs me. No she doesn't know and I'm not one to complain. I'm just going to wait until she decides to call me. I'm going out tonight without inviting her.

that actually happened to me...i won't lie, it did hurt. I was def upset about it but got over it sooner than I thought. the bad part is that I don't forget though, I will always look back and remember her forgetting my birthday.
