Are we just rarely bad at social skills?

Anonymous

I've noticed that sites and people focused so much on a man's social skills but not much on the woman's. It's always assumed we're naturally at it. Is a woman rarely bad at social skills?

I believe my case is unique. Even though I was an early talker (at 11 months old), at the age of 2 my speech was disorganized. I didn't have speech delay; actually I would talk too much. I could say all the words and sentences but disorganized. For example if I wanted to talk about a car, I would say ''Car is the blue'' instead of saying The Car is blue. That got fixed eventually.

Then years later, I actually had trouble making friends. I wasn't shy. I would either run out of conversation, at times talk about the same subjects at different days (boring a couple classmates) or copy, repeat conversations I've heard on TV, on movies or the Internet. Sometimes I would say a whole script I remembered and tried my best to fill the silence. It bothered me when I finally had nothing else to say.

My social skills is better by now but sometimes I really have nothing else to say. Are we just rarely bad at social skills?
